Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy aims to relieve pain and improve movement and function when someone is affected by pain, injury, illness, surgery or other disability. It uses a combination of movement, exercise, manual therapy, education and advice to help restore or maximise an individual’s level of function – whether that is returning to normal daily activities, work duties, hobbies, or participating in elite sport.

At Lymington Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic we take a holistic approach, using our expert knowledge of anatomy and human movement to look at the body as a whole rather than focusing on just the individual factors of an injury or condition.

We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal problems and are experienced in providing rehabilitation following orthopaedic surgery, including knee replacement, hip replacement, spinal surgery, knee ligament reconstruction and shoulder surgery.

We can also help you to recover following a fracture, or to help physical recovery following illness or a stay in hospital.

Conditions include:

  • Back and neck pain
  • Shoulder pain
  • Hip pain
  • Knee pain
  • Ligament sprains e.g. Knee, ankle
  • Muscle tears and strains
  • Soft tissue and joint problems – Shoulder/Elbow/Hand/Hip/Knee/Ankle
  • Knee replacement, hip replacement, shoulder surgery, arthroscopy, ACL ligament reconstruction
  • Rehabilitation following fracture
  • Repetitive strains and overuse injuries
  • Antenatal and postnatal musculoskeletal conditions

Soft tissue/Sports Massage

If you don’t have a specific injury or problem but want to experience the benefits of a massage to aid recovery or performance, or relieve tense, aching muscles and enhance relaxation, you might wish to book a sports massage.

You might also find it beneficial following a course of rehabilitation.

I will give you the opportunity to discuss any specific aims and objectives of the massage before the treatment (for example the specific muscle groups you want to work on, or if your aim is general relaxation rather than a deep massage).

You can choose to book for either 30 minutes, 45 minutes or an hour.

Home Visits

If you have poor mobility, or your injury or condition means you can’t drive, I am happy to visit you at home.

This might also be particularly helpful for you following surgery, or a stay in hospital, where I can assess your mobility and function in your own environment.

Please contact me if you would like to discuss what would be most suitable for you.
